Bafang Dumpling

Dumpling comes in many shapes and forms and their name indicates the particular ways to cook. 

Potstickers-- guō tiē 鍋貼 has a rectangle, flat bottom shape and they literally mean sticking to the pot. “Guō鍋” means pot or pan and “tiē 貼” means to stick. At Bafang Dumpling, potstickers are cooked on a griddle, allowing the bottom of the potstickers to give a delicious crunchy texture. 

Dumplings - shuǐ jiǎo 水餃are cooked in boiling water, “shuǐ 水”means water, “jiǎo餃”is a general name for dumplings. It is traditionally a comfort food, yet they are a symbol of wealth and prosperity to the family. Especially the unique shape of Bafang’s dumpling, they resemble yuan-bao, an ancient Chinese currency – gold. But more than that, dumplings bring family and friends together.
